Working with Solent Health could see students supporting a range of health improvement interventions within the University, as well as the provision of consultations to staff and students. Students working with Solent’s High Performance Academy will have the opportunity to provide nutrition advice to student athletes competing in a variety of sports at national level or above.

Students working with the Southampton Talented Athlete scheme will work with young athletes to help them improve their performance and break into national competition. As well as working on in-house placement opportunities, students are encouraged to seek optional work placements outside of the course.

This will help to increase understanding of workplace practices and give the opportunity to put scientific knowledge into practice. Students are encouraged to find their own work experience placements, although support in finding placements will be available if required.
